James Dillet Freeman, Prayer for Protection This prayer was carried to the moon by the Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin in 1969 on the first manned mission to the moon. Dillet was a poet attracted to Unity, a metaphysical Christian school of thought. Called by some the poet laureate of Unity he follows in the literary tradition of Thoreau, Emerson and Walt Whitman.
